Among the conditions he treats at the DeKalb Neurology & Sleep Center are sleep apnea, narcolepsy, and restless legs syndrome. According to the National Institutes of Health, sleep apnea is very common, affecting more than 12 million Americans. This is characterized by repeated episodes of breathing distress during sleep –characterized by either short, shallow breaths or pauses in breathing. Former State Senator Dr. Adam “John” Tassin Jr. VILLE PLATTE - Funeral services for former State Senator Dr. Adam “John” Tassin, Jr., of Ville Platte will be held Monday, Dec. 28. Tassin reportedly died from complications of COVID-19 on Wednesday, Dec. 23 at Baton Rouge General Hospital. He was surrounded by his family at the time of his death. A Bordelonville, Louisiana native, Tassin graduated the top of his class at Bordelonville High School where he lettered in three sports and was a member of multiple clubs and associations. He graduated from Louisiana State University in 1965 and was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity.

Nancy Maude Rankin died November 21, 2020 in Johnson City, TN at the age of 92. A longtime resident of New Orleans, Louisiana she moved to Cornerstone Village in 2008. Recently, Caris Hospice provided her with warm and comforting care. Proud of her English heritage, she returned to Great Britain many times, once celebrating Christmas in London.
