Acting Police Commissioner, Rusiate Tudravu says a total of 34 arrests were made in the last 24 hours where 25 people were arrested for breaching health restrictions and 9 were arrested for breaching curfew orders. He says majority of the arrests made are linked to alcohol. The Southern Division recorded 18 cases whereby seven people were found drunk at Deuba village in Serua, a 37-year-old man was arrested for breaching curfew orders at Nadonumai while a 35-year-old man was found walking in the Raiwaqa area during curfew hours.

The assistance was made possible through the emergency funds from the organisation’s Trans Pacific Union mission, Fiji mission, ADRA New Zealand and ADRA Australia missions. A statement from the organisation noted that district officer Ba Elisha Joshua had facilitated the distribution as movement into Ba continued to be restricted.
