Click here for the latest headlines. 08 July 2015 A man is expected to appear in court today, 08 July, charged with carrying a firearm and a number of other offences in north Belfast. The man has been charged with two counts of attempted robbery, two counts of going equipped for theft and two counts of carrying a firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence. 13 June 2001 A MAN has been arrested and is currently being held in custody in Armagh in connection with the murder of solicitor Rosemary Nelson in 1999. Rosemary Nelson, a Catholic mother-of-three, died in a car booby trap explosion near her home in Lurgan on March 15, 1999. Police have arrested a 32-year-old man, believed to be from County Armagh.

She also said that if new party leader Edwin Poots appoints a new ministerial team on Tuesday, she will step down immediately as first minister. She previously said she would leave the role at the end of June.
23 April 2021 The Nightingale rehabilitation facility at Whiteabbey hospitals being stood down for Coronaavirus patients, the Northern Trust has announced. The 100-bed facility opened last November as a step down hospital for people not ready to return home. It will now be used as a non-Covid enhanced rehabilitation unit. 23 April 2021 A 14-year-old girl has been found safe and well after police issued a child security alert. An 18-year-old male has been arrested and is currently being detained in custody. The teenage girl was found in the Belfast area and has been reunited with her family. 22 April 2021 Driving tests are to resume in Northern Ireland after they were suspended four months ago due to lockdown restrictions. Close Contact Services Open As Lockdown Restrictions Ease Close-contact services such as hairdressers will be able to open their doors from today, 23 April, as further lockdown restrictions are eased.
Driving lessons and tests can resume and outdoor visitor attractions can also open.
All non-essential retail has been given the go-ahead to open from next Friday, 30 April, and outdoor hospitality businesses. Curfews for takeaways and off-licences will also be lifted.
More restrictions will also be lifted on 24 May, however these are subject to review.
