L.A. County Health Officials Announce Drop In Daily COVID-19 Case Rate Los Angeles County Department of Public Health (LAPDH) officials announced Tuesday that the daily COVID-19 case rate in the county had dropped to within a percent value of the next threshold to enter the yellow tier of re-opening. LADPH officials announced Tuesday that according to state metrics, L.A. County’s adjusted daily case rate had dropped from 3.2 new cases per 100,000 people to 2.7 new cases per 100,000, a promising sign of progress in re-opening. “The numbers released today provide evidence that we are on the right course and if we experience additional declines in the case rate, COVID-19 transmission will be considered minimal in L.A.
