Date Time Fuel Reduction Works Scheduled in Shire for Stawell and Halls Gap Northern Grampians Shire Council in consultation with CFA Victoria, will start fuel reduction work within the shire from Saturday 1 May commencing with Old Lake Oval in Sutherland Street, Stawell. The fuel reduction works are an essential activity in preparation for next summer’s fire danger period to mitigate against fire risk for the local community. The Old Lake Oval work will be carried out by Warren Earthworks and will involve clearing of identified fire fuel. Hand and machine clearing will take place; onsite mulchers, chainsaws, woodchippers and heavy vehicles will be in operation at the site.

Date Time Beautify your business with help from Northern Grampians Shire Council Applications are now open for round two of grants under the Northern Grampians Shire ‘Business Beautification Program.’ Council is offering grants of up to $5,000 matched dollar for dollar with funding by local businesses to bring more life and colour to our streetscapes. The program is available to local businesses and shop owners across the shire wanting to improve the appearance of their shop fronts by undertaking projects such as signage updates, modernising shop front materials, facade works and more. Northern Grampians Shire Council Mayor, Murray Emerson, said the business beautification grants present a great opportunity for our region to come back better than ever from the pressures of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Date Time Mayor and CEO hit road to help shire realise 20-year vision Northern Grampians Shire Council Mayor Murray Emerson and CEO Liana Thompson will be visiting communities across the shire to understand residents’ priorities for the next 20 years. As part of the Northern Grampians Shire Vision 2021 project, community forums will be held in towns across the municipality to allow residents direct input in the long-term future plan for our region. The Shire Vision 2041 will give focus to the 2021-25 council plan and will inform successive council plans until 2041 to empower the community to inform Council’s priorities. The Shire Vision is a brand-new document that will be formed entirely on the basis of this direct community consultation. This work begins from the ground up, with the community, now.
