The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension has identified the Minneapolis police officers who fired their weapons during a Jan. 14 shootout with a suspect. Zedrick Andrew Cooper, 36, was charged in Hennepin County District Court last week with three counts of first-degree assault and one count of ineligible possession of ammunition and a firearm following the brief chase that ended with the gunfight in north Minneapolis. Cooper was shot by police several times and wounded. Police have said he is expected to survive.

The crash was reported at 6:54 a.m. The Minnesota State Patrol reported Daniel A. Kneisl, 28, Verndale, was driving a Dodge Ram north on Highway 371 and Adrian V. Praught, 85, Ironton, was driving a Buick Rendezvous south on the highway. Kneisl was making a left turn across Highway 371 when his truck struck the Buick, causing the vehicles to come to a rest in the northbound lane area.

The M Health Fairview hospital s first 2021 baby was born at 12:27 a.m. He seems like a really laid back, relaxed little babe, the baby s mom, Melissa Hennessey said. We re excited to have a little sleepy snuggler to bring home to our family. I think we re all looking forward to moving into the new year with a sense of peace and calm, and so far little John has certainly exhibited that calming presence for us! The baby s name is John Robert Hennessey. He weighed 6 pounds, 11 ounces.
