Garage Lost in Faribault Fire The Faribault Fire Department, Police Department and North Memorial Ambulance were dispatched at 12:51 a.m. today (February 21, 2021) to a structure fire at 6 5th Avenue NE. Faribault Fire Chief Dustin Dienst says, Upon our arrival the two stall detached garage was fully involved in fire.  No one was inside the garage and the home on the lot was safe from fire due to the distance from the garage and the southerly prevailing wind blowing heat, smoke and fire away from the home. Dienst added firefighters were able to knock down the flames, But were hampered by the amount of stuff in and around the structure.  There were two vehicles in the garage along with many other items.  No one was injured and the fire was contained to the structure of origin.  The building and contents were completely destroyed.  Crews cleared the scene at 2:46 a.m.

Line 3 worker rescued from submerged equipment in subzero temps According to the Hubbard County Sheriff, logging equipment went through ice in a swampy area of Lake Hattie Township. 2:17 pm, Feb. 8, 2021 × Logging equipment fell through the ice in Lake Hattie Township Saturday afternoon at a Line 3 worksite, trapping the operator inside the submerged machine, according to a Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office news release. Enbridge spokesperson Juli Kellner confirmed the incident, which occurred at 1:56 p.m. Feb. 6. The sheriff’s release said, as deputies and medical personnel responded to the rural site, additional information came into dispatch advising them that the cab had filled with water and that other Line 3 replacement workers were attempting to rescue the victim. The workers were successful and tended to Roy Davis of Barnwell, SC, 45, as deputies arrived.
