A Garfield man was injured after his mobile home caught fire near Garfield Monday night, Feb. 1
The Douglas County Sheriff s Office received a 911 call about a residential fire at Woodlawn Trailer Park, 1200 County Road 40 NW, about a mile west of Garfield. The caller reported a mobile home, number 9 in lot 3, was on fire and one person was injured.

RUSSELL A 40-year-old man was cited for speeding at 7:19 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of 170th Street and Minnesota Highway 91, the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office said.
MARSHALL Â A report is pending on an incident of check fraud at 5:17 p.m. Wednesday on the 1400 block of Boyer Drive, Marshall Police said.

One dead after ATV falls through ice on Kabekona Lake
A side-by-side passenger was pronounced dead after a side-by-side broke through the ice and submerged in 18 feet of water on Kabekona Lake.

One person died and another was hospitalized after a side-by-side ATV fell through the ice Saturday in Lakeport Township.
According to a press release from the Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office, the incident was reported at 6:18 p.m. on Dec. 26. The caller said his mother, father and sister had gone underwater when the side-by-side submerged. Though he pulled all three victims out of the water and began CPR on his mother, the caller said she was unresponsive.
