The movie premieres locally Thursday and officials at the North Park Theatre say around 150 pre-sale tickets have already been sold.
“I think there’s this extra anticipation because it’s going to show off Western New York in the back drop of this movie,” Program Director Ray Barker said. “We’re feeling really good. We see Hertel avenue springing back to life, we see more people out at cafes and all the small shops on Hertel. I think people are more comfortable. I think more people are vaccinated. It’s been a long time coming but I think the movie business is coming back to life.”

Starting Friday, 4 Regal Cinemas in Western New York will reopen and end a lengthy closure.
Regal Elmwood Center, Regal Quaker Crossing, Regal Transit Center & IMAX and Regal Walden Galleria have been slated to reopen.
Guests are required to wear face masks at all times, except when eating and drinking while seated in the theater. Social distancing measures will be in place inside the theaters and in the lobby. We ve been closed since the middle of last summer, and we could ve been open with 33%, but the movie houses and the big movie-makers didn t want to release their movies when there is going to be a small turnout, said Regal Quaker Crossing general manager Gerry Buchheit.
