Woman arrested by N B RCMP gang unit fails to appear in court

Fox was arrested on Dec. 6 after several RCMP detachments teamed up to locate and arrest Jonathan Swiftwolfe, 26. At the time of her arrest last month, Fox was wanted on warrants for assault with a weapon and failure to comply with a release order. Fox and Swiftwolfe were arrested on Highway 40, near Sweet Grass First Nation. Swiftwolfe had evaded police since North Battleford RCMP charged him for breaching his probation conditions on April 18, 2020. When police arrested Swiftwolfe, they found a loaded firearm in the vehicle within his reach. Swiftwolfe is facing more than 35 charges. He had another show cause hearing on Jan. 6 but wasn’t released on bail. His bail hearing was adjourned in North Battleford Provincial Court to Jan. 14.

Cummer is also scheduled to appear Jan. 19, 2021, to speak to the matter. The RCMP Gang Task Force/Street Enforcement Team arrested Cummer and Paules. According to police, they had launched a drug investigation at the end of September before executing a search warrant at a residence in the 700 block of 100 Street in North Battleford on Oct. 7. Paules was arrested at the residence and Cummer was arrested on his way to the residence. Cummer and Paules are jointly charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of hydromorphone for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of proceeds of crime. Cummer was additionally charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of a prohibited weapon.

The two were arrested Sept. 10 after the RCMP Gang Task Force/Street Enforcement Team raided a residence in North Battleford on the 1300 block of 96 Street. The Battlefords RCMP Detachment and the North Battleford Provincial General Investigations Section assisted. Police seized a prohibited handgun, 200 rounds of ammunition and other weapons. They also seized about $6,000 in Canadian currency, 276 grams of cocaine, one kg of illicit marijuana, four grams of MDMA and quantities of other unidentified substances believed to be illicit drugs. Goller and Becker were released. They appeared in North Battleford Provincial Court Oct. 26 and the charges against them were read. They are now scheduled to appear in court Nov. 30.

N B RCMP seize 17 kg of drugs in traffic stop

Police received a call at about 11:30 a.m. on Dec. 7 from a citizen reporting seeing an SUV being driven erratically. Police located and stopped the SUV just west of Battleford on Hwy 16. “I applaud the diligence of both the members of the public who contacted us and our officers who responded to the call,” said Insp. Tom Beck, Officer in Charge of North Battleford Detachment. “A police officer never knows what circumstances they might encounter when conducting a traffic stop – you never know who or what will be inside that vehicle.” The vehicle was searched and police seized a quantity of Canadian currency, about 15 kg of suspected methamphetamine, about one kg of suspected cocaine, small amount of suspected fentanyl, and about one kg of an unidentified substance believed to be a controlled substance, which police will send for further testing to identify.
