OneCare Vermont responds to Auditor Hoffer s meritless lawsuit

Wed, 02/03/2021 - 2:44pm tim Vermont Business Magazine OneCare Vermont today responded with strong opposition to a suit filed this morning by Attorney General TJ Donovan on behalf of State Auditor Douglas Hoffer in Washington superior court requiring the organization to provide payroll, salary, and benefit information no other contractor or state partner is required to share.  Although OneCare has already provided the state and the public with the compensation paid to every single OneCare executive, the Auditor is now seeking the pay of other OneCare employees. OneCare said in a statement today that it deems this suit a baseless overreach without purpose or merit.  

NVRH receives $450,000 grant to build prevention network

Related Company:  NVRH and Umbrella Inc. partner to support prevention efforts throughout the Northeast Kingdom Vermont Business Magazine Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital (NVRH) has received the Vermont Prevention Center of Excellence’s Grant. This grant is a one-year grant opportunity with goals to reduce underage drinking, high-risk alcohol consumption, marijuana and tobacco misuse, prescription drug and stimulant misuse, and illicit stimulants and opioids. In order to build prevention capacity and infrastructure at the community, as well as regional levels, NVRH is partnering with Umbrella Inc. The grant, which totals $450,000, tackles two components of prevention: the promotion of healthy lifestyles and norms that reduce the risks associated with the use of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs and the reduction of the impact of those at higher-than-average risk for substance misuse. This includes individuals currently experiencing problems related to use.

Dr. Mark Lichtenstein Dr. Mark David Lichtenstein died peacefully at his home in Greensboro, Vt., on January 5, 2021. He was 69 years old. Dr. Lichtenstein was born in 1951 in Philadelphia. He met his wife, Cynthia West, while studying chemistry as an undergraduate at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Mark graduated from Thomas Jefferson University Medical School in 1976, where he was honored with the Arthur Krieger Memorial Prize in Family Medicine. Mark and Cynthia moved to Buffalo, N.Y., where he completed a family practice residency at Deaconess Hospital. In 1979, Dr. Lichtenstein moved to Greensboro after accepting a placement with Northern Counties Health Care through the U.S. National Health Service Corps. The donation was organized by local community member Jean Guest, Independent Scentsy Family Consultant.
