TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - It’s not officially summer yet, but today s temperatures outside certainly felt like it.
Sports Medicine Coordinator Walt Wilkins with the North Mississippi Medical Center said people should avoid staying outside for long periods of time and dress appropriately for the warm weather, to avoid heat-related emergencies like these:
A clear, hot day in Tupelo on May 24, 2021.
“A cool, clammy and spotted swelling. If you get into a heat stroke situation, it might be a more dry rash that’s warmer to the touch, said Wilkins. When you get into that situation, it’s definitely a medical emergency.”
