McLeod Health Seacoast plans to administer 1,500 doses at mass vaccine event

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WMBF) - McLeod Health Seacoast plans to vaccinate more than a thousand people ages 70 and older.
The hospital will host a mass vaccine clinic at North Myrtle Beach High School on Saturday.
The large-scale event is in response to the lack of vaccine access for people living in the north end of Horry County.
Monica Vehige, the hospital’s administrator, said they plan to administer 1,500 first doses of the Pfizer vaccine on a first-come-first-served basis.

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WMBF) – A drive-up COVID-19 vaccine clinic will be held on Saturday in North Myrtle Beach, to give better access to those living in the north end of Horry County.
McLeod Health Seacoast is hosting the vaccine clinic at North Myrtle Beach High School for those in Phase 1a.
WMBF News has received a lot of messages from people who are upset that there aren’t any vaccine providers on the north end of Horry County, making it hard for those 70 and older to get vaccinated.

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WMBF) - The Grand Strand community paid their respects to LCpl. Melton Gore, a veteran Horry County police officer who was killed in the line of duty.
Gore died last week after he was hit by a car while picking up debris along Highway 22, according to officials.
The Horry County Police Department said itâs a loss that has been felt across the community, with many remembering Gore as a great man who was dedicated to his job and helping others.

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) - A Florida-based nonprofit will be making its way to the Grand Strand to honor a fallen Horry County police officer.
The organization says Cartledge will run the mile at North Myrtle Beach High School on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. It also states that a strict mask mandate and a limited amount of people will be able to attend due to COVID-19 restrictions. Those wishing to attend are asked to arrive closer to 6 p.m.
