Police confirm identity of body found at Grange after search

THE body of a woman found at Grange at the weekend has been formally identified. Police have confirmed the body of Ann Warren, 69, of Hampsfell Road, Grange, was found after a search. There are no suspicious circumstances at this stage. A police spokesman said her body was found at around 11.20am on December 19. She had previously been reported missing. A multi-agency search involving police, ambulance, mountain rescue and coastguard services was stood down. The teams met up at Grange train station and a lost and missing persons search plan was created. Furness Coastguard explained that the search escalated and required other resources, which became a multi-agency incident involving the Morecambe RNLI Hover Station, Cumbria Police, Kendal Mountain Rescue Team, Bay Search & Rescue, North West Ambulance Service and Ulverston Inshore Rescue.

Cumbria police confirmed that the body of a woman was found at Grange-over-sands at around 11.20am on December 19. A spokesman for Cumbria Constabulary said: “Formal identification has not yet taken place and inquiries are ongoing. “The circumstances are not believed to be suspicious at this stage.” This follows reports from Saturday that a multi-agency search involving police, ambulance, mountain rescue and coastguard services was stood down at 2pm. Peter Endsor, mayor of Grange, said he was shocked when he saw the sad news reported.

Man charged with attempted murder after baby girl found seriously injured in Blackpool 05/12/2020 A man has been charged with attempted murder after a baby girl was found seriously injured inside a property in Blackpool. At 6.05pm on December 3 we were made aware by the North West Ambulance Service that a four-month-old baby had been found seriously injured at a property in Onslow Road, Layton. The baby girl was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital and later transferred to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital where she remains in a critical condition. A 28-year-old man from Blackpool was initially arrested on suspicion of GBH.
