Firefighters were called to Vincent Court in Great Lever at 7.30pm on Monday. A 71-year-old woman suffered burns as she threw the pan to the sink. Crew Manager Darren Collier said: We treated the woman at the scene before North West Ambulance Service arrived and she was taken to hospital. Credit: Hoylake RNLI A walk on the beach turned into an emergency for two dog walkers yesterday, after they found themselves stuck in the mud and up to their waists in water in Leasowe Bay. The dog walkers had taken their eight dogs out across the Wirral beach when they found themselves in difficulty. They were unable to move in thick mud and with the tide flooding in, the UK Coastguard were alerted and requested that the Hoylake RNLI hovercraft launch to assist.

Rescue teams collaborated in response to reports of a person in the River Esk yesterday.
Whitehaven Coastguard Rescue Team was called out yesterday afternoon along with Millom Coastguard, Coastguard Rescue Helicopter 936 from Caernarfon and multiple crews from Cumbria Fire and Rescue, North West Ambulance Service, Cumbria Police, St Bees RNLI and the Civil Nuclear Constabulary. The crews were called out by CGOC Belfast Coastguard to Ravenglass, with reports of a person in the River Esk. After rapid searches were conducted up and downstream, a person and their dog were found already out of the water. The person made their way along the river bank to an exit point where she was met by the rescue teams and reunited with her pet.
