Duck hunters rescued from York County creek: police

Two elderly York County men got stuck in Codorus Creek Friday morning while trying to retrieve a duck they shot, authorities said.
The men both over 70 were left stranded around 7:16 a.m. while duck hunting in Manchester Township, on Blackbridge Road north of Arsenal Road, according to Northern York County Regional police.
Police said the men shot a duck and waded into Codorus Creek to retrieve it. They were became stuck when their hip waders filled with water, authorities said.
Firefighters from York Area United Fire and Rescue were called to the area by a passing bicyclist who heard the men calling for help. Police said firefighters were able to lower a ladder into the creek and pull the men up over an embankment.
