Two arrested on drug trafficking charges in Belchertown

BELCHERTOWN Two Belchertown residents allegedly selling drugs from their Sargent Street home were arrested at their residence early Thursday morning, police said.
Timothy Hayward, 47, and Ashley St. Laurent, 33, both of 89 Sargent St., were taken into custody at 6:05 a.m. by members of the Northwestern District Anti-Crime Task Force and officers of the Belchertown Police Department after the execution of a search warrant.
Both were arrested on charges of trafficking cocaine, while Hayward is also facing a charge of possession of heroin, with intent to distribute, subsequent offense. St. Laurent is also facing a charge of possession of heroin.

ATHOL The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is working to determine the cause of a death discovered during a drug raid at 51 Pierce St. on Wednesday morning.
Athol Police Lt. Kevin Heath said members of the Northwestern District Anti-Crime Task Force executed a search warrant for drugs at 7:20 a.m. According to the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office, the body of a deceased male was found and removed. The identity has not been revealed.
