These ultra-high-net-worth individuals were found to be investing in fine wines and Hermés handbags. According to the latest Wealth Report announced by world-leading estate agency Knight Frank and real estate brokerage Douglas Elliman, the world’s ultra-wealthy population, referring to UHNWIs with a net worth of US$30 million or more, rose 2.4% to 520,000 in 2020, despite the global downturn. Topping the list was China with the creation of 9,594 UHNWIs during the year, increasing 15.8% year over year to a total 70,426. The US saw the addition of 6,080 to 180,060, up 3.5% from the prior year.

By Jarrod Mills Staff Writer Mar 11, 2021 Mar 11, 2021 CORBIN — The funding efforts to build a farmers market pavilion in downtown Corbin received a significant boost recently, as Corbin Director Maggy Kriebel announced Hometown Bank has pledged a quarter of a million dollar sponsorship to the project. “I’ve never received a sponsorship anywhere close to that amount in my career,” Kriebel told the Tourism Commission during its meeting Tuesday evening. “I’m so grateful.” President and CEO of Hometown Bank Tim Barnes said he was thankful of Kriebel for bringing the idea to the bank. He added that the bank wanted to do the sponsorship because they saw a need to help downtown Corbin.

A US Trade Hub Finances Agbanga Karite Alaffia Economic governance Thursday, 11 March 2021 14:21 (Togo First) - Agbanga Karité Alaffia, the shea nut processing firm owned by the Togolese Olowo-N’djo Tchala, will receive financing from the West Africa Trade & Investment Hub. The latter is a trade hub financed by USAID. It supports private businesses in West Africa, regarding sustainable development issues.  The investment will be used to “purchase shea nut supplies and others worth $299,000, as well as to produce shea butter which will be exported to the US and other countries in 2021.”  For Alaffia, the financing will help it meet its increasing costs, amid restrictions induced by Covid-19.
