The University of Wisconsin System ordered an audit late last month into UW-Madisonâs bidding process for a large project just days before one of the companies not selected for the contract raised concerns and requested an investigation.

Interim System President Tommy Thompson called the project âabsolutely criticalâ to modernize budget management on campuses.
âHowever, itâs essential that at every step we soundly manage the project with full transparency and accountability,â he said in a Thursday statement announcing the commissioning of an independent review.

NORTHPORT coach Pido Jarencio said the opportunity to get seven-footer Greg Slaughter in a trade with Barangay Ginebra was too good to pass up.

“Christian is not a bad player, but what we need now is one who can intimidate inside,” said Jarencio. “Besides, [Slaughter] trained in the US for a while and played with some big guys so I believe he’s in top shape now.”
