A DRUNK man bit his partner’s lip and did nothing as she was savaged by the family’s banned ‘fighting’ dog which will now be destroyed. John Pugh tried to kiss his then partner at home in Malvern but, when she refused, he bit her lip and dragged her around by the hair before he let the family dog, a Pit Bull Terrier called Odin, attack her. The 29-year-old, now of Clarence Place, Tenbury Wells, admitted assault occasioning actual bodily harm, having a dog that was dangerously out of control and possession of a prohibited breed of dog - a fighting dog - when he appeared at Worcester Crown Court on Thursday. Since it has been in kennels Odin has also bitten two more people and incurred kennel costs of £8,640 which the defendant, who is on Universal Credit, was not asked to pay. Michael Dack was acquitted of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and criminal damage at Worcester Crown Court on Thursday following a trial over the alleged attack in Newbridge Green, near Upton. The 72-year-old gardener of Queen Elizabeth Road, Malvern, had been accused of smashing up Daniel Cummings’s van with the axe and then attacking him through the window of the cab, cracking one of his ribs with a blow to the chest on September 4, 2018. Mr Dack, who gave evidence from the witness box, denied any such incident had occurred. He said Mr Cummings had previously been aggressive and was ‘the sort of person who wanted a shouting match’, referring to him as ‘a very angry person’. AN Anti-Semitic Worcester pensioner who compared the BBC to ‘Nazis’ and ranted at ‘idiot’ city police has been spared jail. BBC-bothering James Evans, who has mental health issues, had already been served with a restraining order which prohibited him from contacting BBC Hereford and Worcester in Hylton Road and the city’s MP, Robin Walker. However, he began breaching the order yet again from April 8 last year, sending BBC Hereford and Worcester nearly 200 letters. When arrested he described police as ‘helpless idiots’. The 74-year-old of Bath Road, Worcester already had five convictions for breaching the order when he appeared at Worcester Crown Court on Wednesday.

David Shadwell, the chairman of the magistrates bench, said: “We agree it is not suitable for summary trial.” A pre sentence report, which will help the judge determine his sentence, was also ordered. The case was set for Worcester Crown Court on December 17. Meanwhile Rosemary Terry, of Ostlers Meadow Farmhouse, Hanbury, Droitwich, was disqualified from driving and will pay a fine and costs totally more than £400 after being caught speeding. The court heard on December 16 that the 39-year-old was driving a Land Rover on the A38 in Fernhill Heath at a speed exceeding the limit of 30mph.
NAMED: Police have named a man found in a burnt out car as Neil Parkinson POLICE have named the man found in a burnt out car in Cotheridge as Neil Parkinson. The 66-year-old, from Clifton-Upon-Teme, was found in the vehicle in Ankerdine Road on December 12, that began a murder investigation. Police have also released an image of him this morning. Mark Chilman, 51, from Pencombe, Bromyard, has been charged with his murder and appeared at Kidderminster Magistrates Court last week. His next court appearance is scheduled to take place at Worcester Crown Court on January 15. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene in a layby in the village on the A44 between Bromyard and Worcester.
