CAIRO, March 3 (Xinhua) Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and his Qatari counterpart Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani held on Wednesday their first meeting after the two countries signed a reconciliation agreement in January to end a three-year rift.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 155th ordinary session of the Arab League Council at the level of foreign ministers which kicked off Wednesday in the Egyptian capital Cairo, according to a statement by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry.
The meeting came days after official delegations from Egypt and Qatar met on Feb. 23 in Kuwait during which the two sides discussed mechanisms needed to enhance future joint work after the signing of the Kuwaiti-sponsored reconciliation deal in Al-Ula city of Saudi Arabia in January.

Arab foreign ministers have condemned the Houthi escalation and the attacks staged against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
They further stressed the centrality of the cause of Palestine, which tops Arab priorities in line with the international references and the Arab Peace Initiative.
This came during the 155th regular foreign ministerial meeting of the Arab League (AL) Council that was chaired by Qatar and held at the headquarters of the AL General Secretariat in Cairo on Wednesday.
AL Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit was reappointed for a five-year second term.
During the meeting, Aboul Gheit stressed that the Arab consensus on Palestine and its cause is comprehensive and complete, and does not tolerate any compromise.
