Gandhinagar (Gujarat) [India], August 19 (ANI): Gujarat High Court on Thursday in an interim order stayed the implementation of certain sections concerning interfaith marriages in the Gujarat Freedom of Religion (Amendment) Act.
Six sections of a "love jihad" law, including one that places burden of proof on the accused, in Gujarat cannot be allowed to stand, the Gujarat High Court said in an interim order, ruling the provisions could not apply to inter-faith marriages.
