The first post was a video Trump posted as members of both parties called for him to speak out against the riot and urge the mob to stop. Trump, repeating unfounded claims, said in the video that while he knew the election was stolen, there had to be peace. This was a fraudulent election, but we can t play into the hands of these people. We have to have peace. So go home, he urged. We love you. You re very special. You ve seen what happens. You see the way others are treated that are so bad and so evil. I know how you feel. But go home and go home in peace.

After the Facebook oversight board recently overturned four cases deemed a violation of the company s policy, former U.S. Acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker remains skeptical of the body s independence. Well, I know that this board was hand-selected by Facebook. And so to suggest that it s independent of Facebook, I think would, you know, not pass the smell test, Whitaker told FOX Business’ Mornings with Maria on Friday.
Whitaker said that Facebook’s oversight board has some responsibility to try to apply freedom of speech values when reviewing violations.
