Farm advisers lobby for extension of super-deduction >More in © Tim Scrivener The 130% first-year capital allowance for companies announced in the Budget should be extended to all businesses, say farm advice groups. The “super-deduction” for plant and machinery will run for two years from April 2021 and is only available to companies, in part to make up for a rise in corporation tax from April 2023. It is estimated that only 10-15% of farms involve a company in any form, and a joint lobbying initiative from the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers, Tenant Farmers Association (TFA), National Farmers Union and Country Land and Business Association is calling for the allowance to be extended to partnerships and sole traders.
