NORTHERN Gas Networks have apologised for any inconvenience caused by urgent repair works taking place in Bradford city centre on a day when many shops and businesses re-opened. As many people flocked to the city centre this morning, urgent gas works at Hall Ings forced drivers to take a diversion to their destination. However, Chris Green, operations manager at Northern Gas Networks, explained: “The ageing gas mains at Hall Ings have undergone several recent emergency repairs, so were prioritised for urgent replacement. The metal gas mains have now been replaced by more durable plastic pipes. This has been a complex major project, but it will ensure a safe and reliable supply of gas to customers in Bradford for many years to come.
