Severe Weather Expected Tonight for Parts of Western OK

Severe storm chances return this afternoon and tonight in the region. KOCO Chief Meteorologist Damon Lane says he expects a tornado watch to be issued for mainly southwest Oklahoma. Currently the National Weather Service in Norman has issued a tornado watch until 9 p.m. for area south west Oklahoma counties including Greer, Kiowa, and Jackson. The watch includes Altus, Granite, Hobart, and Mangum. Lane says areas around and including Elk City, Clinton and Weatherford have a small risk of tornadic activity tonight. However, Lane says another concern for western and southwest Oklahoma will be storms that could produce large damaging hail.
