LAHORE: The Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Ltd (SNGPL) is allegedly delaying the approval of an agreement meant for accessing its distribution network by a consortium formed to import LNG and supply to several member stations of the All Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA) in Punjab.
The delay is being seen as a move to stop private parties, especially the CNG sector, from importing LNG independently and instead keeping them dependent on the SNGPL for getting supplies to gas stations in the province,

Reduces price of high-speed diesel by Rs3 per litre, effective April 1

ISLAMABAD:
The government on Wednesday slashed prices of petroleum products by up to Rs3 per litre effective from April 1, 2021.
It reduced the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs3 per litre, petrol by Rs1.55 per litre, kerosene oil by Rs1.55 per litre and light diesel oil (LDO) by Rs1.56 per litre. The government had increased prices of petroleum products over the past several months. Now, the prices have been reduced for the fortnight from April 1 to 15, 2021.
High-speed diesel is widely used in transport and agriculture sectors. Therefore, the reduction in its price will have a positive impact and ease inflationary pressure.

ISLAMABAD:
The National Assembly was informed on Thursday that the government was procuring raw materials to combat the coronavirus pandemic in sufficient quantity and it was expected that Pakistan would develop its own vaccine against the virus.
The house, which met here with Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri in the chair, deferred the formation of a parliamentary committee on electoral reforms until the opposition parties were consulted on the matter.
