Warren County COVID-19 Vaccine Phases

Photo from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Warren County will begin to receive the Moderna vaccine next week if it is approved by the FDA, providing the vaccine to healthcare providers and emergency personnel, followed by residents who are high-risk. Warren County Health Services Director Jodene DeVault tells KNIA News once those workers have received the vaccine, they will move on to members of the general public. “As the 1A phase, what we are in now, is complete, we will move on the 1B phase sometime probably late in January or early February, it will open up to some essential service workers. And from there if everything goes well, we are hoping to start getting a lot of people vaccinated.”

Warren County to Begin Receiving COVID-19 Vaccine

Photo from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Warren County will begin to receive the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine next week, and begin to distribute to high-risk healthcare providers and long-term care staff and residents as soon as possible. Warren County Health Services Director Jodene DeVault tells KNIA News the county will receive an initial 700 doses of the vaccine. “We are looking to give it to high-risk healthcare providers first, those people working in clinics, hospitals, or EMS, they are seeing people who are ill all the time. They would be on our priority list, and since we have a limited number of vaccinations that is the way we hope to do it, and we think that is consistent with what the CDC and the State of Iowa have in mind.”
