Former officer charged in Daunte Wright shooting to appear in court Thursday

Former Brooklyn Center Police officer Kimberly Potter will make her first court appearance Thursday at 1:30 pm CT, according to Minnesota Judicial Branch spokesperson Kyle Christopherson.
Potter is scheduled to appear before Judge Nicole A. Engisch, according to Christopherson. The hearing will be held via Zoom, Christopherson said.
More context: Potter was arrested and charged with second degree manslaughter in the killing of Daunte Wright earlier Wednesday.
She is currently being held in the Hennepin County Jail on $100,000 bail, according to the criminal complaint.

Reuters -The white police officer whose fatal shooting of a Daunte Wright during a traffic stop in a Minneapolis suburb ignited three nights of protests and civil unrest was arrested on Wednesday and charged with second-degree manslaughter.
Kim Potter, a 26-year veteran of the Brooklyn Center Police Department who turned in her badge on Tuesday, was taken into custody by agents of the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension at the agency’s office in nearby St. Paul, authorities said.
She was booked into Hennepin County jail and charged with second-degree manslaughter for the fatal shooting of Daunte Wright, 20, on Sunday in Brooklyn Center, where she will await her first court appearance in the case, prosecutors said in a statement.

Minneapolis [US], April 15 (ANI): An ex-police officer who shot and killed an African American man Daunte Wright in a Minneapolis suburb after a traffic stop has been arrested and charged with second-degree manslaughter, authorities said on Wednesday.
According to CNN, Kim Potter, who resigned as a Brooklyn Center police officer this week, is charged in Sunday s shooting death of 20-year-old Wright, Washington County Attorney Pete Orput said.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner s Office determined Wright died of a gunshot wound and the death was a homicide. Potter was arrested late Wednesday morning by agents with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, the bureau said. She was booked into the Hennepin County Jail, online records show.
