Novel Coronavirus In Nevada: Tuesday, February 9, 2021 5:22 p.m. | February 9, 2021 Washoe Reports Lowest New Daily Cases On Tuesday Since Mid-June New daily COVID-19 cases have been declining in Washoe.  Over the last two weeks, there have been an average of 81 additional cases per day. The number of cases reported on Tuesday was below that average. There were only 13 cases reported, which is the lowest since June 17.  There were also four additional deaths reported in Washoe on Tuesday. Statewide, there have been an average of about 700 new daily cases over the last two weeks and 16 deaths daily during that same period. Please consider subscribing to support our newsroom.  More than 9,000 Washoe County School District employees have been offered the COVID-19 vaccine, but there s no official data on how many teachers and school employees have received it. The district estimated, based on an internal survey, that 80 percent of the district s workforce wanted the vaccine. Confirming who actually got it, though, isn t a question the district will ask.   According to district, every employee will have had the opportunity to receive at least the first of two shots by Feb. 13. Second doses for those who opt to be vaccinated will be completed by the beginning of March.

Novel Coronavirus In Nevada: Friday, January 29, 2021 6:05 p.m. | January 29, 2021 More Than 40,000 Vaccines Administered In Washoe County Nevada has surpassed 276,000 cases of COVID-19 and there have been 4,218 deaths related to the virus in the state since the start of the pandemic. The average number of new daily cases over the past two weeks is down to 1,055. In Washoe County, health officials are reporting two additional COVID-19 deaths on Friday, bringing the death toll to nearly 600. There are nearly 180 new cases. More than 40,000 vaccines have been administered in Washoe by various organizations, including the Washoe County Health District and Renown.
