Salisbury church teams up with health department for COVID vaccine clinic

47abc April 29, 2021 SALISBURY, Md. – A local church hosted a COVID-19 vaccination clinic on Tuesday. St. James AME Zion Church in Salisbury teamed up with the Wicomico County Health Department for the clinic. They were able to get people vaccinated, provided transportation to and from appointments, and provided snacks while on the trip. We’re told these efforts are to get people to reach herd immunity. Wicomico Co Fair returns to Salisbury in August

47abc April 9, 2021 SALISBURY, Md. – The Wicomico County Fair is making its return this summer. Wicomico Farm & Home Show and Wicomico County officials made the announcement on Friday. Organizers say they are looking forward to the event’s return following last year’s COVID-19 related cancellation. “Our team has been working with the Wicomico County Health Department to produce an event offering the same quality of programming while keeping attendees comfortable,” said Zach Evans, Wicomico County Fair chair. “Our plan, as usual, is to provide a free, family-friendly event with a renewed focus on everyone’s health and safety.” This year’s event will celebrate 85 years of fair traditions, and is presented by Perdue Farms, Toyota, and the Pohanka Automotive Group. The fair is scheduled to take place August 20th through 22nd at Winterplace Park in Salisbury.

Wicomico County Health Department Opens Vaccinations to All in Phase 1-C

The Wicomico County Health Department continues to offer coronavirus vaccinations to individuals in Phase 1-C as well as Phase 1-A and B. Phase 1-C is anyone 65 and older, others in public safety, healthcare, food and agriculture production, US Postal Service workers, grocery store employees and more. To request a vaccine appointment – email wicomico.covidvax@maryland.gov. This is NOT for the mass vaccination clinic that will begin Thursday at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center.
