Covid-positive removalist visits Victoria and SA while infected

Two members of a Melbourne family have tested positive after returning from NSW on red zone permits. The state s Covid Commander Jeroen Weimar said three of the family of four from the City of Hume arrived on July 4 by air and the other returned by car on July 8. They all initially tested negative but two became symptomatic and were tested on Sunday, with the results coming back positive on Monday. Contact tracers are also on high alert after at least one member of a three-man removalist crew who travelled through Victoria and SA from NSW tested positive to the virus.

Victoria Health Minister Martin Foley says the state has recorded four new cases of COVID-19. “These four cases are made up of firstly three members of a family linked to the West Melbourne outbreak, two parents and a child,” Mr Foley said. “We have an indeterminate result on another child and we are currently investigating the nature of that case. “The fourth, the remaining case for today, is a primary close contact of an existing case and they were in quarantine during their infectious period.” There are 64 people linked to the outbreak.
