Music fans in the Land of the Rising Sun began seeing photos of Queen and reading stories about the band in magazines as early as 1974. The band s music and stagecraft immediately resonated in the Far East. By 1975, Queen booked eight shows in Japan at the end of the U.S. tour, after a vacation in Hawaii. They had no idea what they were getting into when they arrived for the first concert at the world-famous Budokan in Tokyo.
