WINDSOR, ONT. Pet food pantry shelves at the Windsor-Essex County Humane Society are almost bare. This weekend the WECHS is holding a pet food drive for Windsor residents who need help feeding their pets. “Pets are part of the family and in some cases people are going through tough times and just being able to afford that bag of food can really make a difference in allowing that pet to stay in a home that they are loved,” says Melanie Coulter, Executive Director, WECHS. “The food bank has always been able to help bridge those tough times and keep pets with people who love them and right now it’s more important than ever.”

Pelee Island Winery is partnering with the Windsor/Essex County Humane Society for a fundraiser that allows pet owners to personalize wine labels with photos of their furry friends.
Until May 14, customers can upload their favourite pet photo along with the pet’s name or a witty phrase to the winery’s website and have bottles of wine with their custom label shipped to their doorstep. A portion of the proceeds will go to the humane society.

Until May 14th, Pelee Island Winery presents personalized “Pet Pic” Wine Labels to benefit he Windsor/Essex Humane Society.
“From our own teams’ experiences, we know how much added comfort and joy our pets have brought us in the last year,” shared Matt Gale, Sales Coordinator with Pelee Island Winery. “We wanted to create something that would raise awareness and funds for more animals to find their forever homes.”

The personalized Pet Pic labels start with the customer uploading their favourite pet photo, along with their name, a message or witty wine varietal such as “Caternet” or “Poocho Grigio”.
