EMEA sees 945% spike in security attacks in 2 years
DUBAI, 4 hours, 1 minutes ago The Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region experienced the biggest jump in its percentage of Denial-of-Service (DoS) incidents since 2018, rising from 2.2% to 23% in 2020, representing a 945% spike, making it the second most targeted region for DoS attacks after Asia Pacific, China and Japan, a report said. DoS and password login attacks such as brute force and credential stuffing are on the rise, according to new research from F5 Labs1. The analysis of three years of incidents reported to the F5 Security Incident Response Team (SIRT) also found that Application Programming Interface (API) attacks are becoming increasingly widespread.

A clash between tech behemoths Google, LLC and Oracle America, Inc. ended Monday when the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that Google s copying of 11,500 lines of Oracle s code for the Android software platform was permitted under the copyright law s fair use defense.
The 6-2 ruling, written by Justice Stephen Breyer, reversed a decision of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in a case that originated in federal court in San Francisco.
