Feb 4, 2021 11:05 AM Daytona Beach, FL - American Airlines (AA) at Daytona Beach International Airport is extending daily, nonstop service to Philadelphia, PA through the summer. Joanne Magley, Director of Marketing & Customer Experience for DBIA said this is a second nice surprise from AA with the first one happening in January when they extended non-stop service to Dallas. Late Friday (January 29) we got word that they are also extending the Philadelphia route. That route will run through September 7th. They re going to take a little pause for April and May then they ll resume on June 3rd. Magley says the extension of the schedule is great news for everyone in Volusia County, giving them more options at their local airport instead of making the round trip to Orlando or Sanford. Study finds airports contribute $40 billion to state’s economy
The Tennessee Department of Transportation recently completed a year-long Statewide Aviation Economic Impact Study.
“Tennessee’s 78 public-use airports are critical components of the state’s transportation network, linking and providing access to regional, national, and global transportation systems,” TDOT Commissioner Clay Bright said in a news release.
This Economic Impact Study represents the 2019 annual economic impact of the aviation system on the state’s economy. The study is a good representation of the annual economic impact of the aviation system during a non-pandemic world.
The study analyzed the economic impacts of on-airport activities, off-airport activities, multiplier impacts, and freight/cargo. Examples of on-airport activities include economic impacts from business tenants, airport construction spending and airport employment. Off-airport impact include visitor spending. Visitor spending g
