Hanoi (VNA) - The
State Bank of Vietnam set the daily
reference exchange rate at 23,147 VND per USD on January 25, up 10 VND from the last working of previous week (January 22).
With the current
trading band of +/-3 percent, the ceiling rate applied to commercial banks
during the day is 23,841 VND/USD and the floor rate, 22,453 VND/USD.
The opening hour rates at some commercial
banks stayed stable.
At 8:25 am,
Vietcombank listed the buying rate at 23,955 VND/USD and the selling rate at
23,165 VND/USD, both unchanged from January 22.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has recently approved
a legal assistance program for small-and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the
2021-2025 period.
The programme aims to promote awareness and sense of legal compliance and
reduce legal risks and obstacles of SMEs that account for majority of the
country’s total businesses, the Vietnam Government Portal (VGP News) reported.
Under the programme, ministries, agencies and localities shall have to update
policies and legal assistance programs for SMEs, collect all feedbacks
regarding legal obstacles from SMEs and report to competent authorities for
refining

NDO/VNA – The 20th Vietnam-China border economic and trade fair kicked off at the Kim Thanh Exhibition and Convention Centre in the northern mountainous province of Lao Cai and the Hekou International Exhibition Centre in China’s Yunnan province on December 12.
The fair is organised by the Trade Promotion Agency under the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT), the Lao Cai Provincial People’s Committee, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade in Yunnan.|

Hanoi - Vietnam is a strategic partner of the UK, affirmed UK Secretary of State for International Trade Elizabeth Truss at a meeting with Chairman of the National Assemblyâs Committee for Economic Affairs Vu Hong Thanh in Hanoi on December 11.
At the meeting, the guest informed about the official signing of the minutes on the conclusion of negotiations over the UK-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (UKVFTA) by the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade and the UK Department for International Trade.

Vietnam-RoK consultancy and technology solution centre inaugurated
The Vietnam – Republic of Korea consultancy and technology solution centre (VITASK) was inaugurated during a ceremony in Hanoi on December 11.
Funded by the official development assistance, the centre is a joint project between the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Korean Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) with an aim to help Vietnamese enterprises operating in automobiles, electricity and electronics join the global value chain.
Korean experts will offer technical support to Vietnamese businesses, provide training for engineer students, and build experimental infrastructure to review product functions.
