Second phase of Nano Covax human trials set for completion on Apr.8
Vietnam is scheduled to finalize the second phase of human trials for NanoCovax, a local-produced novel coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine, on April 8.
According to Chu Van Men, director of the Military Medical University’s Centre for Clinical Trials and Bioequivalence, the majority of vaccinated individuals during the second-stage of human trials, remain in a stable condition . Only a few of those who received the jab recorded a mild pain around the injection site, whilst some had a fever which disappeared after only one or two days.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnamese Office for
Seeking Missing Persons (VNOSMP) held a ceremony to commemorate 16
victims (nine Vietnamese and seven Americans) of a
helicopter accident that
happened 20 years ago during activities of searching for US soldiers missing in
action in Vietnam.
Addressing the event, Le Chi Dung, head of the
Department of American Affairs under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Director of VNOSMP
highlighted that the Vietnamese martyrs’ sacrifice showed the traditional tolerance
and humanity of the Vietnamese people.

Hanoi (VNA) - Competent forces have seized four suspects and nearly 350kg of drugs
that were being transported from Laos to China through
One suspect was
apprehended and 227.5kg of
drugs seized in Quynh Thien commune, Hoang Mai town,
in the province of Nghe An, bordering Laos, on April 3.
Three others
were arrested on January 21 and March 20 in the province’s Thanh Chuong
district, together with 115kg of
crystal meth, 17,600 meth pills, two motor cars,
and one motorbike.
Competent
agencies are completing procedures for the prosecution, investigation, and
settlement of the case in line with the law./.

Hanoi (VNA) - The
Vietnam Red Cross Society (VRSC)’s Central Committee said that
repairs to 22 schools damaged by downpours and
floods in the central region
were completed on April 5-6.
The repairs were carried
out using aid of 2.2 billion VND (96,000 USD) from
Lee’s Sandwiches International,
Inc., a Vietnamese-American fast food restaurant chain based in the US.
Nghe An and Ha
Tinh provinces had eight schools each undergoing repairs, while Quang Ngai
province had six.
Vice Chairman of
the VRSC’s Central Committee Tran Quoc Hung said the society worked with chapters
national insurance database which will be launched on
June 1.
The database covers social, health, unemployment insurance
as well as medical and social security information to ensure citizens’ rights
and interests.
It is available for individuals and organisations nationwide
to access the latest and correct insurance information, thus meeting requirements
for socio-economic development.
It also stores basic information about individuals,
households and employers.
The
Vietnam Social Security (VSS) is responsible for
building, updating, maintaining, tapping and managing the database. It will
also work with ministries and agencies to collect and update information in the
database.
