The city of Highland Heights has installed automatic license plate readers at three key intersections to help police locate wanted suspects passing by. HHPD Chief James Cook said that the LPRs will not be used to catch speeders or to keep track of the comings and goings of individuals.

Michael Stanley died Friday from lung cancer at the age of 72. Word of his health issues came out this week when WNCX Radio announced that Stanley was off the air because of serious health issues. WNCX is saying that Michael will be laid to rest at Lake View Cemetery in a private service. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that you make contributions in his memory to the Greater Cleveland Food Bank or the Cleveland Animal Protective League. The family put out a statement thanking Hospice of the Western Reserve, his friends, and extended family for being there for him.

Authorities said a green 2001 Volkswagen Jetta traveled off the side of the road, hit a ditch and overturned. This happened just before 4 a.m. on Wilson-Mills Road near Flower Mills Road. The driver was ejected amid the crash, according to a release. Police said they did not wear a seatbelt.

Facebook Share CLEVELAND, Ohio A Cuyahoga County Council committee on Wednesday signed off on the bulk of locally-funded county road projects planned for 2021 and 2022, which include portions of major arteries and other well-traveled routes in 27 cities and villages. The projects, which require approval by the full council, are largely resurfacing projects, though some involve the rehabilitation of intersections, according to Nichole English, planning and programming administrator for the county’s Public Works Department.
