Ravensroost Woods More than 100 objections have been lodged against a bid for commercial and machinery storage opposite a nature reserve. The barns, owned by Wedgewood Construction, house old caravans, but the company wants to change the use of an agricultural building and stables to commercial and machinery storage and a site office. But neighbours and a parish council have objected to the scheme at Braydon, near Malmesbury, fearing the road is not suitable for the amount or type of traffic it might generate. And they fear the extra traffic will have an adverse effect on wildlife at the Ravensroost Wood reserve.

A CHARITY fears that wildlife and livestock is in considerable danger and nature reserves may be forced to close, as a result of uncontrolled dogs. This follows recent reports that seven dogs were running among pregnant sheep in Coombe Bissett Down nature reserve. During the current Covid-19 lockdown residents are turning to nature for both health and solace, and Wiltshire Wildlife Trust is urging dog owners to keep canines on leads during their time spent in reserves. The trust has revealed that wildlife and livestock in reserves across the county are being disturbed and chased by dogs on a daily basis.
