WILLIAMSBURG God called His servant, Deacon Robert Lee Hall Sr., 99, from labor to reward at the home of his daughter Thursday, Jan. 28, 2021. He recently celebrated his 99th birthday.
Deacon Hall is survived by his daughters, Verne Parker (Floyd), Barbara Wright (Clinton) and Shearline Melvin (Irvin); son, Rob Hall Jr.; nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; two nieces, Ethel L. Brown and Shirley Dillard; nephew, Arthur K. Wynn Sr.; and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A walk-through viewing will be held from 1 to 5 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 3, at Whiting’s Funeral Home. A homegoing celebration will be held at noon Thursday, Feb. 4, at Williamsburg Community Chapel. Livestreaming will be available at the start of the service. Interment with military honors will follow in Williamsburg Memorial Park. COVID-19 precautions will be in place.

The Williamsburg Symphony Orchestra is hosting a “Holiday Pops” virtual concert Saturday at 7 p.m.
The concert will be live streamed on the orchestra’s YouTube Channel from the Williamsburg Community Chapel, so you can sit back and watch from the comfort of your home.
Some familiar tunes include holiday classics and merry carols. The concert features Jan Wagner as the conductor and Jerold Solomon singing baritone.
Those interested in watching the virtual concert can register for free by going to the concert’s Facebook page here. Registered audience members will have a sharable link emailed to them on Dec. 11 to watch the concert.
