The calendar committee for York County School Division announced during Monday night’s school board meeting that they are recommending a “pre-Labor day start” for the 2021-2022 school year.
As per the proposal, the new start date for YCSD students would be Monday, Aug. 30, 2021 with an end date of Friday, June 10, 2022.
According to YCSD’s website, the new calendar proposal has several benefits, including maintaining a two-week winter break, increasing instructional time to accommodate SOL testing and providing an earlier end to the school year.
