Binghamton man sentenced for firing gun, injuring someone in 2019
(WBNG) The Broome County District Attorney s Office told 12 News a Binghamton man was sentenced to five years in prison in Broome County Court Tuesday.
Lavaugn Ramseur was sentenced to five years in prison for discharging a handgun on Schiller Street in Binghamton in August 2019 and injuring another person. He will also face five years of post-release supervision when he gets out of prison.
Ramseur was found guilty of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree in late May 2021.

A Windsor man was shot and wounded during a confrontation with Broome County Sheriff’s Office deputies early Saturday morning.
According to authorities, deputies responded to a residence on Cascade Valley Road in Windsor at about 12:34 a.m. following a report of a person discharging a firearm toward a vehicle that was turning around near the end of a driveway.
The sheriff’s office said that after arriving at the scene, deputies were confronted by a male armed with a handgun. Deputies exchanged gunfire, striking the suspect with a projectile in the shoulder area. It is unclear from a media release issued by the Sheriff s office if the man was shot with a bullet or not.
