The Indian Super League has sought external help to improve the standard of its match officials, just days after Stuart Baxter was sacked for his controversial comments aimed at the referees.
All India Football Federation (AIFF) general secretary Kushal Das has confirmed that the Indian Super League (ISL) has approached the Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) to help improve the quality of its referees and minimise the frequency of controversial decisions.
The move comes just days after Baxter was fired by Odisha FC for making disparaging remarks at the officials following his side s 1-0 defeat to Jamshedpur, while East Bengal s coach Robbie Fowler was slapped with a four-match ban after making insulting comments soon after.

The situation that led to Bernardo Silva s controversial goal for Manchester City against Aston Villa last week will be penalised in the future, the Premier League and referees association said on Tuesday.
