The Logan County Sheriffâs Department recently released several reports pertaining to illegal drug activity in the community.
On Thursday, April 22, 2021, at approximately 6:50 p.m., deputies with the Logan County Sheriffâs Department conducted a traffic stop in the area of Sportsman Club Road, Russellville.
According to deputies, the driver, Tiffany Schepper, 44, of Russellville, was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and marijuana.
Schepper was arrested and transported to the Logan County Detention Center where she is with no registration plates, failure to maintain required insurance, possession of a controlled substance, 1st degree (methamphetamine), possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Beginning Tuesday, the Georgia Department of Transportation announced ongoing lane closures on State Route 53 eastbound and westbound between Stephens Circle and Sportsman Club Road to allow for reconstruction of the existing SR 53 Westbound bridge.
Now through Thursday, Jan. 28, GDOT construction partners will close a single left lane on SR 53 EB and a single right lane on SR 53 WB overnight Monday through Thursday from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. From Sunday, Jan. 10 to Friday, Feb. 5, the lanes will be closed overnight on Friday and Saturday from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
A flagging station will be set up on each end of the bridge and a pilot car will lead traffic EB and WB across the WB bridge. Construction will take place on the EB bridge over Lake Lanier.
