Farmer unions opposing the Centre s new agri laws on Wednesday rejected a suggestion by police officers to hold their proposed January 26 tractor rally on the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway instead of Delhi s busy Outer Ring Road, sources said. Union leaders and officers of the Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana police forces had met at the Vigyan Bhawan here to discuss the route and arrangements of the proposed rally on Republic Day. The sources said that the farmer leaders were suggested by the police officers to take out their rally on the KundliManesarPalwal (KMP) Expressway, but they did not agree. The Outer Ring Road passes through several areas of Delhi such as Vikaspuri, Janakpuri, Uttam Nagar, Burari Peeragarhi and Pitampura.

New Delhi: An earlier expression of view does not mean that a person cannot be appointed in a particular committee on that issue as the opinion can also change, observed the Supreme Court on Tuesday.
The remarks of the apex court, which also said there is a peculiar lack of comprehension about constitution of a panel, assumes importance as some of the members of the recently constituted committee to resolve the deadlock between farmers and the Centre over the farm laws had earlier reportedly expressed their views on the subject.

New Delhi: Farmer unions opposing the Centre s new agri laws on Wednesday rejected a suggestion by police officers to hold their proposed January 26 tractor rally on the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway instead of Delhi s busy Outer Ring Road, sources said.
Union leaders and officers of the Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana police forces had met at the Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi to discuss the route and arrangements of the proposed rally on Republic Day.
The sources said that the farmer leaders were suggested by the police officers to take out their rally on the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway, but they did not agree.

Noting that its intervention to resolve the deadlock over farmers protests against farms laws has been misunderstood, the Supreme Court on Monday said it was for the Delhi Police to take a call if farmers should be allowed to enter the national capital with their tractor rally.
Our intervention has been strongly misunderstood.Who will come in the city and who will be allowed will not be seen by us, a Bench headed by CJI SA Bobde told the Centre while hearing a plea filed by the Delhi Police to stop farmers proposed tractor rally on January 26.
