On Saturday, Masvidal will rematch welterweight champion Kamaru Usman in the main event of UFC 261. The two first fought 10 months ago at UFC 251 with Masvidal losing a unanimous decision. However, many things have changed since the two first fought. For instance, UFC 251 took place in Abu Dhabi and without fans in attendance whereas Saturday’s card takes place in Jacksonville, Fla., and will be the first event with full fan attendance in over a year, something Masvidal is excited about.

I’m ready to shut this s down. It’s gonna be violent action from start to finish. I’m gonna expose the coward that he is and I say that with all honesty because he’s nothing but a coward. He said a lot of things that crossed the line. So let’s go. Let’s get in there and find out who is a real man and who is not,” Masvidal told ESPN in a pre-fight interview (h/t MMA Fighting).

Unbeaten since he joined the promotion in 2015, Usman had scored victories in 12 straight fights. During that run, Usman won the welterweight crown and defended it twice. His third title defense was scheduled for February 13, 2021, opposite Gilbert Burns. A win would put Usman at 13 consecutive victories and break the tie he was in with Georges St-Pierre. Thirty-four seconds into the third stanza of his fight against Burns, Usman stood alone. The 33-year-old knocked out Burns, retained his title, and won his 13th straight fight. On Saturday, the champion looks to defend his 170-pound crown a fourth time and keep his winning streak alive when he faces Jorge Masvidal in the main event of the UFC 261 pay-per-view card.

Andrade won her flyweight debut against Katlyn Chookagian last October by first-round TKO, and will now attempt to dethrone the champion in the first of three title fights this weekend at UFC 261. Shevchenko is unbeaten in her last six fights and has only lost to two-weight champion Amanda Nunes during her UFC stint. Talking to MMA Fighting, Andrade said Shevchenko deserves the pound-for-pound number one spot.
