The U.S. House is scheduled on Wednesday to clear the $1.9 trillion coronavirus stimulus bill and send it to President Joe Biden for his signature.
House Democratic leaders said Tuesday they didn’t expect much dissent, even though some progressive lawmakers grumbled after the Senate tightened the income limits for the $1,400 stimulus checks, kept the extra weekly unemployment insurance payments at $300 rather than raise them to $400, and eliminated a proposed increase in the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour.
Former President Donald Trump said Tuesday that he supports the Republican Party and its major fundraising organizations but still doubled down on his demand that "RINOs and fools" not use his name or likeness to raise campaign cash.
