House Speaker Sherman Packard stripped Merrimack Rep. Rosemary Rung of her committee assignments for commenting on the police chief of Troy’s participation in the Jan. 6 rally in D.C. Is House Speaker Packard going to reprimand Rep. Al Baldasaro for carrying on a committee meeting maskless for three hours after having traveled out of state? Baldasaro’s total lack of respect for his fellow legislators should receive the same treatment. The State House COVID screening rules call for denying entry to those who have made a trip in the last two weeks without quarantining, so why was he allowed to enter? Speaker Packard should “speak” out.
As a former councilor, Sununu understands the role councilors play.
But he decided to ask voters to give him a different, Republican-led group after the Democratic majority denied him key political appointments, including
Gordon MacDonald as New Hampshire Supreme Court chief justice, 2018 congressional nominee
Eddie Edwards as a professional licensing chief and
Ryan Terrell of Nashua to a seat on the Board of Education.

Wheeler thought voters were galvanized by the record of number of bills passed by the Democratic-controlled Legislature and vetoed by Sununu.
