On a separate front, a number of pro-Israel groups and free speech advocates, including the Women’s Zionist Organization of America and the Anti-Defamation League, are urging lawmakers to lobby U.N. Secretary-General António Guterres to ensure the UNRWA’s textbooks are absent documented language of “incitement to violence and antisemitic hatred.”
“It is critical that we stand together to demand systemic reform to educational materials used by [UNRWA] before one more child is taught from textbooks riddled with hateful lessons,” 14 organizations wrote in a joint letter to members of Congress.
Most criticisms are based on reports published by a congressional watchdog organization and a Jerusalem-based research, policy and advocacy group that found textbooks provided by Palestinian authorities in the West Bank and Gaza Strip to the UNRWA did not align with stated U.N. values of tolerance, human rights and equality of race, gender, language and religion.

US Congressional Republicans delayed $75 million in aid from being sent to Palestinians, reported
the Jerusalem Post.
Last month, the US Agency for International Development (USAID) sent Congress a programme narrative of $75 million in Economic Support Funds (ESF) for programmes in the West Bank and Gaza that would begin 15 days after the notification was received.
The USAID programmes for the Palestinians include roads, pavements, bus lots, emergency preparedness, adapting to climate change, community initiatives and safe spaces to engage in community initiatives.
ALBANY – Rep. Lee Zeldin, a Long Island Republican who closely allied himself with President Donald Trump as a member of Congress, has entered the race for New York governor.
Zeldin launched his campaign Thursday well ahead of the 2022 election, when embattled Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo would be seeking a fourth term if he decides to run and he s not removed from office by then.
The congressman is one of several New York Republicans eyeing the governor s office.
On Wednesday, Andrew Giuliani son of former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and a former Trump aide himself told multiple news outlets he is considering a run. North Country Rep. Elise Stefanik, another Trump ally, has also been mentioned as a possible candidate.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D–NY) has prioritized Senate passage of a major new bill on U.S. China policy. How the bill will come together a total of eight committee chairs have been tasked with drafting it remains an open question. Whatever the ultimate vehicle, this bill is a once-in-a-decade opportunity for Congress to develop a comprehensive approach to China. It should adhere as closely to the regular order as possible.
